There have been more famous musicians engaged for Plymouth Church Choir during the past fifty years than in any other church in this country, if not in the world. Among the names I may mention are Zundel, Burnet, Stebbins, Wheeler, Thursby, Toedt, Sterling, Lasar, Damrosch, Warrenwrath, Camp, and many others. Of them all probably John Zundel came the nearest to Mr. Beecher's ideal.
So Yaroslav named him Uroshtch Veschei; and he said to Ivashka: "Ride to my father, Prince Lasar, and tell him I am well and have found a trusty steed." Then Yaroslav Lasarevich rode off upon his good horse to Ivan the Russian knight, and behind him followed Ivashka at full gallop till he was lost to sight.
Prince Daniil has invaded our dominion with an immense army and threatens to seize it and carry off the Tsar and me and the twelve knights prisoners." Then spoke Yaroslav Lasarevich: "My lord and father, give me the shield, and lance, and I will go out to fight the enemy." But Prince Lasar answered: "My son, how canst thou combat such a host, who hast never been in battle?

Thy son Janko is restored to life, and thy stores are filled. "Long lived the rich Lasar, the fair Luibitza, and the curly-haired Janko." Milutinovich, in his address to the youthful surgeon, compares his transcendent generosity to the sacrifice made by Lasar in the wild and distasteful legend I have here given.
Hastily retracing his steps he called the party up to the second cellar. "Did you fetch the sacks?" called Mr. Marquand. "No, but I've fetched trouble. It's coming in sackfuls." "What do you mean?" "We're besieged." "Besieged?" wondered the Professor. "Yes; there's a crowd outside, and they've been trying to shoot me up. Must be some of your friends, Mr. Marquand." "Lasar and Comstock?
Bob Lasar's face had grown livid with rage. His anger was rapidly getting beyond all bounds. Tad observed it and saw the storm coming. It arrived a moment later when Lasar whipped out a revolver. Before Mr. Marquand could make a move to draw his own weapon Bob had aimed his weapon and pulled the trigger.
"I expected you long ago," said he; "the Archbishop advised me of your arrival: but we thought something might have happened, or that you had missed us." "I prolonged my tour," said I, "beyond the limits of my original project. The circumstance of this convent having been the burial-place of Knes Lasar, was a sufficient motive for my on no account missing a sight of it."
Yaroslav rode straight to the city, and there beheld Prince Lasar assembling an army for battle. Then dismounting from his horse, he threw himself with his face to the ground and said: "Long life to my lord and father! How fares it with thee? Wherefore so sad, my lord?" And Prince Lasar answered: "My dear son, whence art thou come like a sunbeam to cheer me? How can I help grieving?
Marquand reasoned that his former associates might not take the same attitude toward him in the presence of the boy that they might otherwise take. The two men had halted in the doorway as Mr. Marquand hurled his decision at them. Lasar shoved his companion into the room and closed the door. "Sit down, both of you!
