Folders for correspondence, card indexes, memorandum files and other similar devices are essential to the orderly transaction of business. Keeping ashes and scraps of paper off the floor may seem trifles, but such trifles go far toward making the atmosphere, which is another word for personality, of an office.

Granice stared a moment at these oddly associated objects; then he took the letter from under the string and slowly began to open it. But even the tiniest little "one-horse" railway distributes neat little "folders," showing conclusively that its tracks lead through the Elysian Fields and end at the Garden of Eden. A conspicuous feature in all hotel offices is a large rack containing packages of these gaily coloured folders, contributed by perhaps fifty different railways for the use of the hotel guests.
