Inasmuch as telepathy is a fact, and the medium almost certainly derives some of the facts from one's mind, or from the minds of other living people, how can we ever prove "survival" the actual communication of our spirit friends? We can only apply the same sort of tests in the one case as in the other.

"Little Peter asked a question," replied Sir Deryck, gravely; "and I answered it." "Wonderful! Will you talk this telepathy over with Michael when he comes home? It would interest him." The doctor looked into the fire. "It is a big subject," he said. "When I can spare the time, I am thinking of writing an essay on the mental and spiritual development of animals, as revealed in the Bible."

"You may contradict me as flat as a flounder, Eunice, but that won't alter the facts. There is something in telepathy there is something in mind-reading " "If you could read my mind, Aunt Abby, you'd drop that subject. For if you keep on, I may say what I think, and " "Oh, that won't bother me in the least.

On the contrary, there are many experiments that point to clairvoyance or telepathy as the true explanation. It is only the prevailing tendency to cover all facts by a single explanation that has led to the difficulty. If we were willing to admit that there may be operative many different influences and causes, on different occasions, it seems to me that much of the difficulty would vanish.

"Any news of Inez?" asked Lockwood who had been fuming with impatience. "She's probably on her way up here," returned Craig briefly, taking up the blow-pipe again. Alfonso remained silent. The Senora could scarcely hide her excitement. If there were anything in telepathy, I am sure that she read everything that was said over the wire.

In its present status telepathy is seen as a result of wholly unconscious and unanalyzed processes that open a new region of life and a new range of possibilities. It is the discovery of a new keyboard, so to speak, in the individual, enabling him to still more "live in thought," and to "act with energies that are immortal."

"Yes, past a wall of bayonets?" "When not even a soldier in uniform is allowed to move away from his command without a pass?" "By wireless?" "Perhaps by telepathy!" "Unless," said the chief of the aerostatic division, grinning, "Bouchard lends them the use of our own wires through the capital and around by the neutral countries across the Brown frontier!"

Personally, I did not expect her, so can claim no credit for the telepathy; but if faith ever did work wonders it was on that occasion. There were laughing faces and happy hearts as we said good-bye, when my dainty little lady spread her wings to a fair breeze a day or so later.

Presently the one certain that her telepathy had not miscarried, and the other equally convinced that his reception of the message was accredited to him, the conversation was given an abrupt direction by an apparently alien question: "Do you know anything about flowers?" asked his companion.

Mere telepathy, certainly mere telepathy from my mind, would have "spotted" some one of these connections much more readily than the alleged one with B., which was hardly a connection at all.
