The Prince wished to go back to Copenhagen, but this Nitocris absolutely refused. She had determined to fight her sorrow alone, and when she had conquered it, she would go back to England and her friends which was exactly what Oscarovitch had determined she should not do. She was absolutely at his mercy now.
