Now, Jimmy Rabbit had agreed to meet Buster at the hollyhock hedge between the flower and the vegetable garden, on the morning following the great gathering of Farmer Green's friends. At least, that was what Buster Bumblebee thought. Unfortunately, however, the matter had slipped entirely from Jimmy Rabbit's mind.

Hollyhock could not help observing that both Barbara and Augusta were particularly nice-looking girls, with fair English faces and refined English voices. All the children were dressed for the evening. 'So affected at a school, thought Hollyhock; 'but the birch-rod woman will be on them soon, if I 'm not mistaken.
