Think of them: terrorism, the spread of weapons of mass destruction, organized crime, drug trafficking, ethnic and religious hatred, aggression by rogue states, environmental degradation. If we fail to address these threats today, we will suffer the consequences in all our tomorrows. Of course, we can't be everywhere. Of course, we can't do everything.

Let us resolve to make our government a place for what Franklin Roosevelt called "bold, persistent experimentation, a government for our tomorrows, not our yesterdays." Let us give this capitol back to the people to whom it belongs. To renew America we must meet challenges abroad, as well as at home. There is no longer a clear division between what is foreign and what is domestic.

His eyes wandered out across the plain toward the forest, and a longing for the pleasures of its mysterious depths possessed his thoughts for a considerable time. With the next sun he would cross the open and enter the forest! There was no hurry there lay before him an endless vista of tomorrows with naught to fill them but the satisfying of the appetites and caprices of the moment.

And there is nothing so stimulating to one as to know that he has within himself the means to create for himself newer and better conditions of life and environment. "No " she started to say, when she heard footsteps, and John released her. "It's a very dark night," said Allan sadly. "I couldn't see my best friend, even if he were on my own porch. Coming in, John?"

That beautiful 'yesterday' of dreams and laughter when our boys were home when Walter and I read and rambled and watched new moons and sunsets together in Rainbow Valley. If it could just come back! But yesterdays never come back, little Jims and the todays are dark with clouds and we dare not think about the tomorrows." 11th December 1917 "Wonderful news came today.

It was only a boy's fancy, and your divine pity and my utter pitiableness have recalled it for a moment. One does not love the dying, dear friend. Now go, and you will come again tomorrow, as long as there are tomorrows."

But in spite of such small defects you remain a man of cheerful yesterdays, and we may presume equally confident tomorrows, and therefore, to be envied." The three stood comparatively alone, the people having passed out and Poussette and Enderby talking apart in a corner.
