Not a solitary case can be found in which a Canaanite was either killed or driven out of the country, who acquiesced in the transfer of the territory of Canaan, and its sovereignty, from the inhabitants of the land to the Israelites. They knew that their land had been transferred to the Israelites, as a judgment upon them for their sins. See Joshua ii. 9-11, and ix. 9, 10, 24.

Matt. x. 11. Clem. Hom. iii. 71. Luke x. 7. Luke is entirely gratuitous and, to an extent, improbable. Perhaps it may be well to give examples of these before we make any comment upon them. We may thus take Matt. vii. 9-11. Clem. Hom. iii. 56. Luke xi. 11-13. Matt. x. 28. Clem. Hom. xviii. 5. One more longer quotation: Matt. xxiv. 45-51. Clem. Hom. iii. 60. Luke xii. 42-45.

If thou wouldst be persuaded of the truth of this, that that very body is now above the clouds and stars, read Acts 1:9-11, and Luke 24 toward the end. If thou wouldst know that the Quakers hold an error that say the body of Christ is within them; consider the same scripture. Wouldst thou know what that Christ that died for sinners is doing in that place whither he is gone? Then read Hebrews 7:24.

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever; and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Vs. 9-11. "And the third angel followed." The two preceding angels addressed communities, calling them to repentance and reformation. Indeed, the language of the second implies little or no hope of their recovery.

Ibid. ii. 1-40. Brucker, vol. ii. p. 110. Ibid. iii. 51. Ibid. iv. 1. Acts xiii. 8; see also Acts viii. 9-11, and xix. 13-16. Ibid. iv. 11, et seq. When denied at the latter place he forced his way in. Philostr. viii. 19. Ibid. iv. 35. Ibid. iv. 40, etc. Brucker, vol. ii. p. 120. Philostr. v. 10. Astrologers were concerned in Libo's conspiracy against Tiberius, and punished.

Hilprecht reads Nin-a-gid-kha-du, but this can hardly be correct. The two ideas, 'water' and 'incantation, are correlated. The 'waters' meant are those used for purification purposes in connection with the magic formulas. De Sarzec, pl. 32, col. ii. 9-11. Records of the Past, N.S., i. 59. The publication in De Sarzec favors my readings.

Further, the Presbytery declare and maintain, that, in subserviency to this his special mediatory kingdom, the Lord Jesus Christ has a supreme and sovereign power given unto him, in heaven and in earth, and over the infernal powers of darkness angels, authorities and powers being put in subjection to him; that he has the management of all the wheels of providence put into his hand, whereby he restrains, disappoints, and at last totally destroys, all the enemies of his interest and glory; and by which he orders and overrules all the events that fall out in time, for the accomplishment of the great and glorious ends of his incarnation, and lasting good of those that love him: according to Psal. ii, 6; Isa. ix, 6, 7; Isa. xxxiii, 22; Matth. xxi, 5; Isa. lv, 4, 5; Gen. xlix, 10; Heb. iii, 6; Psal. cx, 1, 2; Matth. xxviii, 18; John vii, 2; 1 Pet. iii, 22; Phil, ii, 9-11; Confess, chap, viii § 3; Larg.

The flood as a divine judgment especially in the light of the judgment put upon Adam and Cain. Noah as the first man mentioned who saved others and the way in which he represents Jesus. Evidences of man's freedom as seen in this and the former chapters. Worship as seen in the two periods studied. From the Flood to Abraham Gen. Chs. 9-11. Noah's Shame and Prophecy.

The popular opinion is that this book of the Revelation is sealed; but John received the direct command, "Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book." The majority of the teachers of Babylon to-day are fulfilling Isaiah 29:9-11, and that is the reason why it has become to them a sealed book.
