There were about one hundred and fifty prisoners in all Shropshires, Cheshires, King's Royal Rifles and other British regiments all from our division and mostly from our brigade. Other small parties continued to come in during the night, but there were no more P.P.'s. This apparently clinched matters."

The British casualties in the two days amounted to eight killed and thirty wounded, a small total when the arduous nature of the service is considered. The Canadians and the Shropshires seem to have borne off the honours of these trying operations. Three brigades may seem an imposing force, but the actual numbers did not exceed two strong regiments, or about 1500 sabres in all.
