In the work conducted by my Organization at Wellesley Hills we study the trend of religious interest as closely as we do the condition of the banks or the supply of and demand for commodities. Statistics of church membership form one of the best barometers of business conditions. We have these figures charted back for the past fifty years.
When it came to parting with Ra Tuiki, I forgot my quasi-divinity and seized the old head-hunter's hand in an ungodlike, Anglo-Saxon grip. Their island would now be charted. Missionaries would come to them with teachings of a new faith, but treading on their heels would come men of another sort, and as I thought of these I wished that we might be able to leave the place unchronicled.
No accurate count of asteroids—or minor planets, as they were called—had been made, but the observatory on Mars had charted the orbits of over 100,000. Most of them were only a mile or two in diameter. Others, much smaller, had never been charted by anyone. One leading astronomer had estimated that as many as 50,000 asteroids filled the belt. "I know the usual stuff about them," he told O’Brine.

As this is the charted latitude of Peak Foreman, Young Island, the bearing does not agree.
Now, in time of peace there's no secrecy about the navigation of these. They're buoyed and lighted like streets, open to the whole world, and taking an immense traffic; well charted, too, as millions of pounds in commerce depend on them.

I believe that we have been right in the course we have charted. To abandon our purpose of building a greater, a more stable and a more tolerant America would be to miss the tide and perhaps to miss the port.
Nearly everything that possibly could be determined about an internal secretion has in its case been settled or plausibly guessed at. The cells manufacturing the secretion, its exact chemistry and function, its action upon the blood, the liver and spleen, the heart and lungs, the brain and nervous system, have been minutely investigated, studied and charted.
East Tennessee and southwest Virginia were cut by Stoneman. Alabama and Mississippi were traversed by Grierson and Wilson. In sum, the new map resembled that of a territory charted off into sections. President Lincoln said that its face put him in mind of a weary traveler in the West, who came at night to a small log cabin.
He spread the map out carefully, likewise his calculations; they gave him, on this floor, the precise positions that he charted on the earth of the cellar. A glance toward the front of the house north then a little measuring, three chalk-marks on the carpet, and he was ready for the final move. He took the fateful ring and with a penknife pried up the prongs that held the stone.
"A fine structure to desert, isn't it?" said Caradoc in a low tone. "Just what I was thinking," sympathized Madden. "I suppose we could send a tug back and find her?" "Doubtful, in this fantastic place." "The current is fairly well charted; still, it may take us some time to reach port " Both men fell into a musing silence as Greer nibbled the boat forward with the single oar.
