Idolatry is spiritual whoredom. "The kings of the earth" are her paramours, and their subjects are partakers in the crime, "made drunk."
Examples to drunkenness; examples to whoredom; examples to swearing, to lying, to stealing, to sabbath-breaking, to pride, to covetousness, to deceit, to hypocrisy, and to what not, are now-a-days common among men, and he that is to seek in this matter, and that know not how to be expertly base, may have patterns and examples thereto in every hole.

The priest's daughter who committed whoredom was to be burned, as profaning her father.
It hath been said indeed, That whosoever will put away his wife, let him give her a bill of divorce: But I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except on account of whoredom, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is put away, committeth adultery.
