BUDDEN'S DISCOURSE FOR PARENTS' HONOUR AND AUTHORITIE. 8vo. 1616. THE TWO WOLVES IN LAMB'S SKINS, OR OLD ELI'S LAMENTATION OVER HIS TWO SONS. 8vo. 1716. NATURE, A POEM. Folio. 1736. BARNEFIELD'S PLOWMAN'S COMPLAINT. 4to. 1580. GILL'S INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHILDREN, in Verse. 1709. SOUTHEY'S COWPER. Vols. X. XII. XIII. XIV. CAIRN'S EDITION OF GOLDSMITH'S MISCELLANEOUS WORKS, Edinburgh. 1801. Vol.

These results suggested the grand undertaking of a general photographic survey of the heavens, and Gill's proposal, June 4, 1886, of an International Congress for the purpose of setting it on foot was received with acclamation, and promptly acted upon.

'They have got affidavits to show old Gill's life's in danger; he is in high fever to-day, and raving furiously, and if he should die, McEvoy declares that they'll be able to send bills for manslaughter, at least, before the grand-jury. 'There's more of it! cried Kilgobbin, with a long whistle. 'Is it Rogan swears the fellow is in danger?

"And to think of drowning all this beautiful hair. Why, there is seaweed in it I do declare, like a mermaid." "The rocks were covered with it," I returned, in a weary indifferent voice; for Mrs. Gill's officiousness tired me, and I longed to free myself from her kindly hands. When I was dressed, I crept very slowly downstairs.

I called the singular feature which points out this water to the wanderer in these western wilds, Gill's Pinnacle, after my brother-in-law, and the water, Gordon's Springs, after his son. In the middle of the night, rumblings of thunder were heard, and lightnings illuminated the glen.

It was commonly thought that the case against Gill and the attempt to involve Vanderveer were moves of the lumber trust and Chamber of Commerce directed toward the I. W. W., for in the background were the same interested parties who had been forced to abandon the recall against Seattle's mayor. Gill's final acquittal in this case was hailed as an I. W. W. victory.

Sir David Gill's definitive results were published in 1900. As the average parallax of the eleven brightest stars in the southern hemisphere, they gave 0·13", a value enhanced by the exceptional proximity of Alpha Centauri. Yet four of these conspicuous objects Canopus, Rigel, Spica, and Beta Crucis gave no sign of perspective response to the annual change in our point of view.

To the north lay a long and very distant range, which I thought might be the Gill's Range of my last expedition, though it would certainly be a stretch either of imagination or vision, for that range was nearly 140 miles away. To the north-westward was a flat-topped hill, rising like a table from an ocean of scrub; it was very much higher than such hills usually are. This was Mount Conner.

'There is no warranty for this concession. It cannot be continued. 'The notice in this case was duly served, and Gill knows that it was to papa's generosity they were indebted for remaining. 'These arrears have never been paid, on that point I am positive! 'Malone's holding was not fairly measured, he has a just claim to compensation, and shall have it. 'Hannigan's right to tenancy must not be disputed, but cannot be used as a precedent by others on the same part of the estate, and I will state why. 'More of Peter Gill's conciliatory policy!

'I am sure, Jasper, said Gillian, 'I don't see why it should spoil anything to make other people happy. I thought we were told to make feasts not only for our own friends 'Gill's getting just like old Miss Hacket, said Wilfred. 'Or sweet Constance, put in Jasper. 'She'll be writing poems next. 'Hush! hush! boys, said Lady Merrifield.
