Letter of November 27, 1924. To my dear friends and fellow-workers, the members of the American National Spiritual Assembly. My friends and fellow-workers:— The letters which our able and devoted friend, Mr. Horace Holley, has addressed in your behalf to the Greatest Holy Leaf and myself have all been received, and, together with their enclosures, read with the closest attention.

XLVI, 1940-41, pp. 455-468. A brief but incisive discussion of the structure of fascism. Lilge, Frederic The Abuse of Learning: The Failure of the German University, N.Y., 1948. A philosophical history of higher education in Germany, concluding with its fascist evolution. Matteotti, Giacomo The Fascist Exposed: A Year of Fascist Domination, London, 1924.

The first transmissions of speech and music in England were made from Chelmsford, Essex, when a 15kW transmitter of the Marconi Company began regular transmissions in February of 1920. In the summer of 1924 the world's greatest radio companies British Marconi, German Telefunken, French Radio Telegraphie and American R.C.A. met in London to discuss transatlantic communications.

We know and this is rather a tribute to our cleverness that the year 1924 will contain 366 days, and even the exact point at which the extra day will slip in.

Haifa, Palestine, January 4th, 1924. Letter of February 23, 1924. To the beloved of the Lord and the handmaids of the Merciful throughout America.

I am eagerly awaiting every news you may wish to send me, for I thirst after the glad tidings of the progress of the Cause in your mighty and promising land. Your fellow-worker, Shoghi 27 November 1924 To my dearly-beloved brothers and sisters in ‘Abdu’l-Bahá. My most precious brothers and sisters in the love of God!

"For his discovery of the Jekyll-Hyde quality of the electron, which corroborated the prediction made in 1924 by De Broglie, French Nobel Prize winning physicist, and showed that the entire realm of physical nature had a dual personality, Dr. Davisson also received the Nobel Prize in physics." Twentieth-century science is thus sounding like a page from the hoary VEDAS.

Feb. 1, 1919: Arrested in Los Angeles County charged with suspicion of a felony. Los Angeles County No. 14554. June 31, 1924: Arrested in San Francisco, charged with uttering fictitious checks. No. 35570. Oct. 5, 1925: Los Angeles Police Department issued notice that Allen was wanted for uttering fictitious checks. Bulletin No. 233.

It is worth nothing to animals. Over 41,000,000,000 gallons of oil were consumed in the U.S. in 1924. All the other minerals likewise were stored in the earth for the use of man alone, iron, copper, gold, silver, all the valuable minerals, knowing that man would make use of them. The most precious and most useful minerals are of no value whatever to any species of animals.

In this fervent plea joins me the Greatest Holy Leaf. Though chagrined in the evening of her life at the sorrowful tales of repression in Persia, she still turns with the deepest longings of her heart to your land where freedom reigns, eager and expectant to behold, ere she is called away, the signs of the universal triumph of the Cause she loves so dearly. Haifa, Palestine, November 24th, 1924.
