The average time of these two performances was barely half that required by the Butterfield stage over the Southern route. The pony had clipped ten full days from the schedule of its predecessor, and shown that it could keep its schedule which was as follows: From St. Joseph to Salt Lake City 124 hours. From Salt Lake City to Carson City 218 hours, from starting point.

Of the interview which took place inside 218, I can speak only at second-hand, and the world knows about as well as I how the contest was compromised by the K. & A. being turned over to the Missouri Western, the territory in Southern California being divided between the California Central and the Great Southern, and a traffic arrangement agreed upon that satisfied the G.S. That afternoon a Missouri Western board for the K. & A. was elected without opposition, and they in turn elected Mr.

The greatest number of arrests for any one week in November, 1917, were 61, while the greatest number for the same period a year ago were 218. In Decatur, Ill., which went "dry" four years ago, the population has increased from 25,000 to 45,000.

Though elected in the summer of 1846, it was not until December 6, 1847, that the Thirtieth Congress began its first session. Robert C. Their casualties cannot be included in brigade reports. Colonel Johnston, after much examination, "finds a possible variation of 218 more casualties, principally in missing, that might be added to General Beauregard's report."

An expression which, with a slight change from "spoken" to "comprehended," occurs in almost every one of Massinger's plays. Act I. Scene 2, is also by Massinger. On page 218, We need not add this wind by our observance To sails too full already. This reminds us of the common Massinger simile, Too large a sail for your small bark. And Virg. Mar., I. 1. 85,

You will remember 348 as the year of the death of Plato, which we took as marking the end of the Golden Age of Greek. In 218 Ennius was twenty-one. He was the Father of Latin Poetry; as Cato the Censor, seven years his junior, was the Father of Latin Prose.

Naturally you were not interested in and would not have noticed any other number. Well, here is 218, where I propose to enter, and for which purpose I have the keys. Come along." David followed wonderingly. The houses in Brunswick Square are somewhat irregular in point of architecture, and Nos. 218 and 219 were the only matched pair thereabouts.
