Where Aristides was not very clear, or rather not full enough, in describing America, I was called on to supplement, and I had to make several speeches. I supposed she must be one of our cruisers, she was so large, and the first thing that flashed into my mind was a kind of amused wonder what those poor Altrurians would do with a ship-of-war and her marines and crew.
