Beulah looked at her keenly; and asked, with something like a shiver: "Did it never occur to you to doubt the plan of redemption, as taught by divines, as laid down in the New Testament?" "No, never. I want to die before such a doubt occurs to me. Oh, what would my life be without that plan? What would a fallen, sin-cursed world be without a Jesus?"
"Well, I wonder, were those cases 'miracles' just supernatural wonders, performed merely to prove Jesus' authority to preach a new gospel? or were they 'governed by a demonstrable Principle, as she affirms, brought to earth for suffering humanity to learn and practice, and so be redeemed from its sin-cursed bondage?
In all the history of this poor, sin-cursed world, the Devil never did one kind act to a human being. He never wiped away a tear of sorrow, or mitigated a heartache or pain, nor ever will. Jesus settled that matter when the Jews accused Him of casting out devils through the prince of devils, Beelzebub. If Satan be divided against Satan, his kingdom cannot stand.
The church is the "pillar and ground of the truth" or the material organization through which heaven is bearing its message of love to this sin-cursed world. All who attain unto the mind of Christ will love the church and give themselves for it. The Unity of the Church.
They who reach Heaven from such a world cannot drink in the same kind of enjoyment as those who come up out of great tribulations from the spheres of a sin-cursed world, and who have struggled for mastery and forged their way to the sky through armies of aliens.
After praying, they explained carefully what it meant to be redeemed from all sin, and told the seekers how God looked upon the sin-cursed world and its awful wickedness, but also how He was so moved with tender love and compassion that He sacrificed the brightest Gem of glory even His only begotten Son to be a Redeemer for all who would believe on Him and turn from their evil ways.
Death, transformed into an angel of pity, kindly opened the door of escape from the woe and weariness of this sin-cursed world, into the calmness and dreamless rest of the vast shoreless Beyond; and just when I was passing through, you snatched me back to my burdens and my bitter lot. Inwardly I shouted for joy as this new light illumined my face, and I loathed to think of proceeding on my journey to any sin-cursed world of the universe, for the ties of kinship, friendship, and earthship all vanished at the sight of such resplendent spheres.
