While the British army were in Charlotte he served under Captain Forney and Major Dickson, watching the movements of the enemy. Susan Forney, married Dr. B.C. Jones, of Alabama. Emma Forney married Col. M. Smith, of Alabama. Mary Forney, who married Christian Reinhardt, had five sons and four daughters. One of the sons, Franklin M.
