This ran across to the Colle S. Martino to supply a large brick reservoir of imperial date. There were aqueducts still in 1437, for Cardinal Vitelleschi captured Palestrina by cutting off its water supply. This shows that the water came from outside the city, and through aqueducts which probably dated back to Roman times, and also that the reservoirs were at this time no longer used.

It is a charming survival with groined stone roof and open arcade around, and it gives a very picturesque and special character to this end of the street. The Hospital of SS. The Chapel, Governor's Room, and some of the ancient dormitories remain.
