It is 18 in. in width, weighs 7-1/2 cwt., and revolves quite easily pivoted on a large bull's-eye of glass. A little higher up the street is a large vane, richly decorated in red and gold, on the Corn Exchange. When he sold the library to the Cardinal de Rohan, in 1706, he reserved the Collection Du Puy for his daughters. The following account of his operations is given in a letter addressed by M. de Cerisy, the Prior of Chateauneuf, in the Diocese of Riez, in Provence, to the Vicar of St. Jacques du Hautpas, at Paris, and dated the 18th of November 1706: "I have something to relate to you, my dear cousin, which will be interesting to you and your friends.
