From Madrid came the information that during the evening a throng of no less than six thousand people, carrying flags and shouting “Viva Espana!” “We want war!” and “Down with the Yankees!” burned the stars and stripes in front of the residence of Señor Sagasta, the premier, who was accorded an ovation.

Perhaps it is as well! It gives assurance, at least, that no particularly wild schemes or subversive changes shall be made.
