The Problem of Language It was a Lutheran demand in the sixteenth century to preach the Gospel in the vernacular. It would be un-Lutheran in the twentieth century to conduct public worship in a language which the people do not understand. This lesson is written so plainly in the history of our churches in America that "he may run that readeth."
Behold their houses which We have left to the spiders, and take heed, O ye who are endued with understanding! Blessed is he who readeth it and pondereth its contents, for a goodly end doth in truth await him. 21 Thus have We recounted unto thee the tale of the evil-doers, that thine eyes may be solaced.
