I will only say, that the evidence appears to me altogether satisfactory that some most fatal series of puerperal fever have been produced by an infection originating in the matter or effluvia of erysipelas.

On the other hand, there is reason to believe that the products of certain organisms antagonise one another for example, an attack of erysipelas may effect the cure of a patch of tuberculous lupus.

"Take courage, my boy," replied the doctor, laying his hand on his shoulder once more; "he has erysipelas in his face. It is a serious case, but there is still hope. Help him. Your presence may do him a great deal of good." "But he does not know me!" exclaimed the boy in a tone of affliction. "He will recognize you to-morrow perhaps. Let us hope for the best and keep up our courage."

He is in his bed from an injury." "Nothing very serious, I hope?" "A bruise on his head, not very bad, but the doctor was afraid of erysipelas. Seems to be doing well enough now." "Is there a young person here, a stranger?" "There is such a young person here. Do you come with any authority to make inquiries?" "I do.

Naturally timid, severity made him actually a coward; and when the nerves tremble, a lie sounds as surely as, when I vibrate that wire, the bell at the end of it will ring. Beware of the man who has been roughly treated as a child. The day after the conference just narrated, Mr. Morton, who was subject to erysipelas, had taken a little cooling medicine.

I pede fausto! "This has been but a melancholy year to me. I have been ill with one complaint or another nearly the whole time; the last disorder the erysipelas, but this has now nearly disappeared. I hope this letter will meet you as well in health as I take it you are now in spirits." Morse lost no time in replying:

He did not see this patient after the 20th, being confined to the house, and very sick from the wound just mentioned, from this time until the 3d of April. Several cases of erysipelas occurred in the house where the autopsy mentioned above took place, soon after the examination. There were also many cases of erysipelas in town at the time of the fatal puerperal cases which have been mentioned.

Before midnight Coquenil was in raging delirium with a temperature of one hundred and five, and the next morning, when Pougeot called, the doctor looked grave. They were in for a siege of brain fever with erysipelas to be fought off, if possible. Poor Coquenil! His body was in torture and his mind in greater torture.

If there is much pain, two drops of laudanum may be added to every other dose. A table-spoonful is a dose for a grown person. Erysipelas. The decoction of sarsaparilla has proved useful in cases of erysipelas. Take two ounces of sarsaparilla, one of sassafras, one of burdock root, and one of liquorice; boil them slowly in three pints of water, keeping it covered close, until reduced to one-half.
