Of Coleridge's prose works, the Biographia, Literaria, or Sketches of My Literary Life and Opinions , his collected Lectures on Shakespeare , and Aids to Reflection are the most interesting from a literary view point.

By his oratorical talents he was once in his life, according to the Biographia, deserted. Could these notions really have belonged to Bowyer, then how do we know but he wrote The Ancient Mariner? Yet, on consideration, no.
It is asserted in the Biographia Britannica, that Addison designated Steele as "little Dicky." This assertion was repeated by Johnson, who had never seen the Old Whig, and was therefore excusable. It has also been repeated by Miss Aikin, who has seen the Old Whig, and for whom therefore there is less excuse.
