As Phoebe came to her sister's side, she clutched her arm excitedly: "Rebecca!" she exclaimed. "'Tis Newington, as true as I live! Newington and Blackman Street!" Suddenly she sat down in the grass and hid her face in her hands. "What d'ye mean?" said Rebecca, looking down at her sister with a puzzled expression. "Where's Newington I never heerd tell of Blackman Street.
But instead of going to Hanover Street, she walked past Islington Green, all along Essex Road, northward thence to Stoke Newington, and so came to Abney Park Cemetery; a long way, but it did not weary her. In the cemetery she turned her steps to a grave with a plain headstone. Before leaving England, Joseph Snowdon had discharged this duty.
One plan, abandoned, however, before she attempted to put it into execution, she describes in the following letter to George Blood. The tone in which she writes is much less hopeless than that of the letter last quoted. Already the remedy of activity was beginning to have its effect: NEWINGTON GREEN, May 22, 1787. By this time, my dear George, I hope your father and mother have reached Dublin.

But he never records his purchase of these plays; and it is not generally believed that Shakespeare was the author of all these plays, in the form which they bore in 1591-4: though there is much difference of opinion. There is one rather interesting case. That was his share of the receipts. The Lord Chamberlain's Company, that of Shakespeare, was playing in Henslowe's theatre at Newington Butts.
He was well-to-do, living in a fine old red-brick house at Stoke Newington, with half-a-dozen acres of ground round it, and, if Frank had been born thirty years later, he would probably have gone to Cambridge or Oxford.
