Every school should possess a copy of Lalor's Cyclopaedia of Political Science, Political Economy, and the Political History of the United States, 3 vols., Chicago, 1882-84.
Spofford's article on The Budget in Lalor's Encyclopaedia is extremely instructive. H.C. Adams' Public Debts is one of the ablest financial works in the English language. The proper administration of Federal and State finances is discussed, and the subject of national and local debts considered.
