They come and go away without the soul being at all modified by them in anyway. Pleasure and pain are destructible, but not so the soul. The ordinary man thinks this conglomeration of diverse objects to be his self. The man of wisdom who has exhausted his acts does not think so. He is freed from the obligation of taking a body. The sense probably is this.

It remains yet in the order of logic, though not of history, to show that among these solid destructible particles, there really do exist germs capable of giving rise to the development of living forms in suitable menstrua.

"In the earlier days of our experiment," he replied, "we had much trouble from this source; but at last we hit upon the plan of allowing each boy a certain sum of pocket-money, and deducting from this, in part at least, the estimated value of whatever he destroyed. From the day this rule was adopted all destructible articles seemed to have lost a great part of their fragility."

Those surfaces were neither so steep as to be destructible by weather, nor so flat as to be the victims of floods and deposits.

Confining the mind within the heart, i.e., withdrawing the mind from all external objects. Murdhni is explained by Sreedhara to mean here "between the eyebrows." All these regions being destructible and liable to re-birth, those that live there are equally liable to death and re-birth.

Praeneste, on the other hand, which must formerly have been subject to the Æquians, now appears as an independent town. The Æquians, who inhabited small and easily destructible towns, must have been annihilated during the progress of the Gauls.

The character and influence of an ancient family is a peculiar heritage sacred but destructible; and woe to him who either destroys or suffers it to perish! This was the longest speech I ever heard my father speak before or after. He abruptly resumed 'Yes, we will, Maud you and I we'll leave one proof on record, which, fairly read, will go far to convince the world.

Out of these great doors would march ideas to strengthen and refresh the poor; ideas once rejected, once thought destructible by the air of the American wilderness. A conspiracy of centuries had been unable to destroy them. Into these great portals for long years would a whole people march for their own sanctification and glory!

""'I have now told thee what the indications are of what is Indestructible and what is Destructible, according to the best of my knowledge and according to what has been expounded in the scriptures. I shall now tell thee, according to what I have heard, as to how Knowledge that is subtile, stainless, and certain arises. Do thou listen to me.

It does not, however, appear improbable to me that some of the more refined machinery of thought may adhere, even in another state, to the sentient principle; for, though the organs of gross sensation the nerves and brain are destroyed by death, yet something of the more ethereal nature, which I have supposed, may be less destructible.
