The Chanoine Carrel, of Aosta, whose name is so well and so favourably known to Alpine men, sent a brief account of an ice-cave in his neighbourhood to the Bibliothèque Universelle of Geneva in the year 1841, and, as far as I know, there is no other account of it.
He ought to have stayed in if only to present his secretary to his wife. But he went out to reflect in private upon her initiative, her ready resourcefulness, her great gift for conspiracy. He had to get away from her. The thought of her induced in him qualms of trepidation. Could he after all manage her? What a loss would she be to Mr. Carrel Quire! Nevertheless she was capable of being foolish.
"General Bugeaud remarked in the course of a speech in the Chamber that 'obedience is always a soldier's duty. 'What if the order be to become a turnkey? asked Dulong, in allusion to the General's position in relation to the Duchess of Berri, during her pregnancy and confinement at Baye. Armand Carrel endeavored to pacificate, but the effort failed.
The above proclamation was placarded throughout Paris, and was simultaneously published in the three leading journals, the Nationale, the Courier Français, and the Commerce, which were severally edited by the distinguished journalists, Thiers, Mignet, and Larequy. Another renowned editor, M. Carrel, was dispatched to Rouen, to gain that important city to the Orleans cause.

Remarkable confirmatory evidence of the fact that every organ of the body is composed of individual cell intelligences, endowed with an instinctive knowledge of how to perform their special functions, is found in the experiments of Dr. Alexis Carrel, the recipient of the Nobel prize for science for 1912. Dr.
There is this suggestive fact about these recent biological experiments of Dr. Carrel, of the Rockefeller Institute: they seem to prove that the life of a man is not merely the sum of the life of the myriad cells of his body. Stab the man to death, and the cells of his body still live and will continue to live if grafted upon another live man.
"I'll tell your chauffeur." "The initials will correspond in case " "Yes," said she. "I'd noticed that." "We will see what your typewriting machine is capable of, and then I'll decide about it." "Certainly." "Please take down some letters." "Mr. Carrel Quire always told me what he wanted said, and I wrote the letters myself." "That is very interesting," said Mr. Prohack.
