Political nationalism in the eighteenth century and economic and social emancipation in the nineteenth century mobilized high school and college age youth in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa. It is folly to assert that human nature is a given and unalterable quantity in every social situation and that since "you cannot change human nature" intentional social changes are out of the question.
At no time in the four and a half centuries of modern civilization in the Americas has there existed in any year, in any decade, in any generation in all that time a greater spirit of mutual understanding, of common helpfulness, and of devotion to the ideals of serf-government than exists today in the twenty-one American Republics and their neighbor, the Dominion of Canada.
Slaves imported under the Asiento treaties went to all parts of the Americas.
