A sense of profound changes in theology has left our contemporaries indifferent to the literature in which the old theology was clothed. There is one department of American literary production, of which Bossuet's famous sermon on Queen Henrietta Maria of England may serve to remind us, which illustrates significantly the national idealism. I mean the commemorative oration.
