It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 26. And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? 27. And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. Mark x. 17-27.

In Buller's covering despatch of January 31 with which he forwarded to the War Office, through Lord Roberts, Warren's Spion Kop report, he commented very unfavourably on Warren's arrangements and disposition of troops; and said that Thorneycroft had "exercised a wise discretion, and that no investigation was necessary": while to Warren's general report on the whole operations of January 17-27, he attached a memorandum to the Secretary of State for War, "not necessarily for publication," in which he not only blamed himself for not having taken command on the 19th, when he saw "that things were not going well," but also said that he could "never employ Warren again in an independent command"; as his slowness had allowed the enemy to concentrate and to increase the force opposed to him more than twenty-fold.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26. For as the Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself; 27. And hath given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. JOHN v. 17-27.

Only four on the Zurghul duplicate. For the interpretation of these symbols, see Luschan, Ausgrabungen in Sendschirli, pp. 17-27, and Scheil's article. On the Zurghul tablet there are eight symbols, while the other contains nine. See pp. 263, 264. A text IVR. 5, col. i. compares each of the seven spirits to some animal.

If we have the means to give and will give it to relieve human suffering, there are always reputable agencies ready to properly dispense it. None of us can despise Mr. Almost, fellows, if we eat a square meal and turn a deaf ear to the calls to help the suffering and the needy. This is the acid test. Read Mark 10:17-27.

But he held his peace. 1 SAMUEL x. 17-27. These verses fit on to chapter viii., chapters ix. to x. 16, being probably from another source, inserted here because the anointing of Saul, told in them, did occur between Samuel's dismissal of the people and his summoning of the national assembly which is here related.

Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good. JOB v. 17-27. They all proceeded on the assumption that suffering was the fruit of sin a principle which, though true in general, is not to be unconditionally applied to specific cases.
