This will not embrace the side-arms of the officers, nor their private horses or baggage. All persons included in the capitulation remain at liberty; the officers remaining in their respective homes, which shall be respected as long as they observe the regulations prescribed for their government and the laws enforced. Officers shall retain their side-arms, horses, and private property.
On pegs underneath hung the regulation side-arms, a "Sam Browne" belt and holster containing the Colt's .45 Service revolver. A rifle-rack at the end of the room contained its quota of Winchester carbines.
