The bishopric of Nueva Segovia comprehends the province of Pangasinan, the missions of Ituy and Paniqui, the provinces of Ilocos, Cagayan, and the missions of the Batanes Islands. That of Nueva Caceres comprehends the provinces of Tayabas, Nueva Ecija, Camarines and Albay.

Another popular place of pilgrimage is the shrine at Tagbauang, near Iloilo, where illnesses are cured at a high mass in January. "To the province of Tayabas," replied the curate negligently. "One who will be greatly affected by it is Maria Clara, when she learns of it," said Capitan Tiago. "She loves him like a father." Fray Salvi looked at him askance. "I believe, Padre," continued Capitan Tiago, "that all her illness is the result of the trouble on the last day of the fiesta."
The French, who take off the bulk of the crop, are fonder of its peculiar taste than most other people, and prefer it to other descriptions. Pepper is grown to a very limited extent in Tayabas, and is all consumed in the country, although in former years some has been exported from that province.
The said Revolution now rules in the Provinces of Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro, Tayabas, Laguna, Morong, Bulacan, Bataan, Pampanga, Neuva-Ecija, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Union, Infanta, and Zambales, and it holds besieged the capital of Manila.
