It is another proof, if I required any, of the under-current of living and healthful thought which exists even in the less-known ranks of your great nation.
It was obvious, also, that by enlarging the field of operations the difficulties of the British Commander-in-chief would be very much increased, and the pressure upon the Boer guerillas in the Republics relaxed.
