We read in Psalm ix. 16: "The Lord is known by the judgment which He executeth: The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands." The inspired thought is that the punishment of evil-doers is in such exact correspondence with the character of their evil doings as to show that it is the Lord executing vengeance the penalty shows a designing hand.

He sprang up as soon as he saw the damsel. "I have brought four fine partridges," St. Katherine, which is called the partridge's spring, and of which many legends are told. For instance, God created it for the partridges which accompanied the angels who carried St. he said, "which I snared myself, and I have brought this turquoise for you my brother found it in a rock.

Why, that King Solomon would pray for them that they might wear any sort of crowns but these same golden ones; for listen, Tita, and see the snare of riches mankind so hunted, and shot, and trapped, and snared them, for the sake of these same golden crowns, that life was a burden to bear.

But now on the instant every glance was turned on Evander, and Sir Rufus, eying him with much disfavor, asked of Brilliana, "Who is your prisoner?" Evander made a step forward unrestrained by his guards, and answered for himself composedly. "I am Captain Cloud, of the parliamentary army, snared under a flag of truce."

On October 29 he is sent prisoner to England on the home-bound ships of Bond and Lucas. His two companion spies are marooned for the winter on Charlton Island. As well try, however, to maroon a bird on the wing as a French wood-runner. The men fished and snared game so diligently that by September they had full store of provisions for escape.

The love itself is the spider; the lusts of evil and falsity together with their subtle cunning are the net of threads nearest the spider's post; and the enjoyments of the lusts together with their crafty schemes are the more remote threads where flies are snared on the wing, enveloped and eaten.

To whom He said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. 13. But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. ISAIAH xxviii. 1-13.

The landscape blurred. The forward beast was growing large . . . two standing figures above him the fling of a white arm! The huge red howdah rocked as the thief elephant entered the river; a moment more, only the howdah showing. Distantly like the hum of furious insects, Skag heard Chakkra's chant: "The thief is snared!

Beset with lust, men run about like a snared hare; held in fetters and bonds, they undergo pain for a long time, again and again. Beset with lust, men run about like a snared hare; let therefore the mendicant drive out thirst, by striving after passionlessness for himself.

Of food they had little. Nothing grew on the Rock, and its sides, covered with shellfish at sea level where the surf thundered in, were too precipitous for access. Here and there, where crevices permitted, a few rank shellfish and sea urchins were gleaned. Sometimes frigate birds and other sea birds were snared. Once, with a piece of frigate bird, they succeeded in hooking a shark.
