Round her throne are the four fathers, St. Ambrose, St. Gregory, St. Jerome, and St. Augustine.

Between 1495 and 1498 Leonardo was engaged on the painting of The Last Supper.

In one of the naves is a gigantic pillar, with a bronze serpent. It is said to be the one put up by Moses in the wilderness, despite the evidence in Scripture of its complete destruction!
