The chastiser of Paka, viz., Indra, the slayer of Vritra, O monarch, was in particular enamoured of her and coveted her person. The great ascetic Devasarman was fully cognisant of the disposition of women. The Rishi knew that Indra was restrained by no scruples in the matter of seeking the companionship of other people's wives.
