Answered Taj al-Muluk, "Shall I haggle with the like of thee about this paltry price? Praised be Allah who hath acquainted me with thee!" The old woman rejoined, "Allah's name be upon thee! Happy she who lieth in thy bosom and claspeth thy waist in her arms and enjoyeth thy youth, especially if she be beautiful and lovely like thyself!"
With jest and sweet discourse she goes unto the rock sublime, Where halts above the eternal sea the shuddering child of time. The other here, resolved and mute and solemn, claspeth thee, And bears thee in her giant arms across the fearful sea. Never admit the one alone! Give not the gentle guide Thy honor nor unto the stern thy happiness confide! Time flies on restless pinions constant never.
What happiness is greater than what the father feeleth when the son running towards him, even though his body be covered with dust, claspeth his limbs? Why then dost thou treat with indifference such a son, who hath approached thee himself and who casteth wistful glances towards thee for climbing thy knees?
I know not where thy road may lie, Or which way mine may be; If mine will lead through parching sands, And thine beside the sea; Yet "God keeps watch 'tween thee and me," So, never fear. He holds thy hand, he claspeth mine, And keeps us near.

I have spread out my hands, that is, opened my arms as a mother affectionately doth, when she stoopeth to her child in the warm workings of her bowels, and claspeth it up in them, and kisseth, and putteth it into her bosom.
Its golden portals heaven doth wide unfold, Amid the angel choir she radiant stands, The eternal Son she claspeth to her breast, Her arms she stretcheth forth to me in love. How is it with me? Light clouds bear me up My ponderous mail becomes a winged robe; I mount I fly back rolls the dwindling earth Brief is the sorrow endless is the joy! All remain for some time in speechless sorrow.
So soon as the damsel seeth Perceval, she knoweth him again. She claspeth her two hands together and saith, "Ha, Sir, for God's sake have mercy! Already have you given me back the castle whereof this knight would reave me." The horse whereon Perceval sat, the knight knew him. "Sir," saith he, "This horse was the horse of Messire the Red Knight of the Deep Forest!
