Singing should be restful, should be the result of power in repose or under control. These movements, and these movements alone, make such conditions possible. All singing should be idealized, should be the result of self-expression, of an expression of the emotions. This is impossible except through correct bodily action.

Now, as with a fresh eye he reperused it, and with that strange, innocent admiration, not of self for a man's work is not, alas! himself, it is the beautified and idealized essence, extracted he knows not how from his own human elements of clay; admiration known but to poets, their purest delight, often their sole reward.

We find philosophic ideas or greetings, emotions, and experiences represented by paintings paintings with fanciful or ideal landscapes; paintings representing life and environment of the cultured class in idealized form, never naturalistic either in fact or in intention.

Louis Ehlert, speaking of Chopin's F Major ballad, says he has seen even children stop in their play and listen to it enraptured. In the interest of historical truth, however, the attempt must be made.

The second answer is, that their object is our fellow men and the health of the social organism, while our inducement to practice them is in part the constant teasing of the tribal instinct or conscience, and in part our imaginative sympathies, as stimulated by a glow of emotion which is consequent on our contemplation of idealized Humanity as a whole.

Her genius, which in a later day might have taken the form of mental creation, concentrated in a supreme capacity for idealized human passion, and its blind impulse was a reproduction of itself in another being. Were she and Hamilton but the victims of a mighty ego roaming the Universe in search of a medium for human expression?

In his writings he was the interpreter of chivalrous, well-bred youth, and his heroes were young, clean-thinking college men, heroic big-game hunters, war correspondents, and idealized men about town, who always did the noble thing, disdaining the unworthy in act or motive.
