From this it follows that the text enjoining the performance of the Agnihotra up to the end of life, and similar texts, are not universally binding, but concern those only who do not retire from worldly life. The above conclusion is further confirmed by a scriptural passage prohibiting licence of conduct on the part of any one. Creatures sprung from heat are included in the third term viz. that which springs from a germ which is exhibited in the text quoted.
