Rodney-street was laid out by a German named Schlink, who, being desirous to perpetuate his name, called his new thoroughfare Schlink-street. Several houses were erected in it, but the idea of living in "Schlink"-street the word "Schlink" being associated with bad meat deterred persons from furthering the German's speculation.
