Eleven cheese-mongers' children were called after the bird, though none of them could sing a note. One day a large parcel came for the Emperor. Outside was written the word: "Nightingale."
She was given twelve servants, who each held a silken string which was fastened round her leg. There was little pleasure in flying about like this.
