Now that the Marcellians had given up the point in dispute, there was no great difficulty about their formal reconciliation. It has been argued that the latter could not have been the author of the Sermo Verus, because it apparently mentions the sect of the Marcellians, and this was not founded till the year 155 under Bishop Anicetus.
