Her successor was named Beder al-alum sherif Hasham, the nature of whose pretensions to the crown does not positively appear, but there is reason to believe that he was her brother. Under these circumstances he was induced to resign the government in 1702, and died about a month after his abdication.
About seven days after his elevation he was seized with a convulsive disorder in his neck and died.
