Captain Bligh was, upon his return to England, immediately promoted to the rank of rear-admiral, and employed in active service; while the New South Wales Corps, which had certainly been long enough in the colony from which it drew its name, was ordered home, and the 73d regiment sent out to supply its place.
Bodies of infantry and cavalry were pouring down on us, and it was time to leave contemplation, so I moved towards our columns, which were standing up in square. Our regiment and 73d formed one, and 33d and 69th another; to our right beyond them were the Guards, and on our left the Hanoverians and German legion of our division.
On no point of the British line was the pressure more severe than on Halkett's brigade in the right centre which was composed of battalions of the 30th, the 33d, the 69th, and the 73d British regiments.
Captain James Houston died on the 2d of August, 1819, in the 73d year of his age, and is buried in Center Church, graveyard. Rev. James Hall, a distinguished soldier of the Revolution the Captain of a company and Chaplain of a Regiment at the same time was born at Carlisle, Pennsylvania, on the 22d of August, 1744.
