Here Dotty threw herself on the sofa, the picture of despair. Grandma was perplexed. Had she been pouring ideas into Dotty's mind too fast? What should she say next? "My dear little girl, suppose Prudy should lose some of your money what then?"
They could not prove that she was really guilty, though everybody believed she was." "I know what 'guilty' means, mamma; it means hung." "No, dear; if she hurt the baby she was guilty, whether she was punished for it or not." "Well, she did it, I just know she did it!" exclaimed Dotty, greatly excited. "That little tinty boy!"

The little round table, the sideboard and the chairs were all painted a soft cream color, and on each chair back, and the sideboard drawers and doors sprays of tinty, tiny flowers were painted.
