The road continues hard, but south of Paks it becomes rather rough; consequently halts under the shade of the mulberry-trees for Igali to catch up are of frequent occurrence. The peasantry, hereabout, seem very kindly disposed and hospitable.

Our journey was a rapid one; at ten o'clock in the morning we were already at Feldvar, a place which seems at a distance to be of some magnitude, but which melts away like a soap- bubble on a nearer approach. By two o'clock we had reached Paks; here, as at all other places of note, we stopped for a quarter of an hour.

The river had in places spread itself out like a small sea, inundating lands already in seed; this was specially the case at Paks, where both banks of the river are equally low as a rule, the left side was the more flooded the whole way along. At Baja the destruction to property was most serious.

Pak!" the Obo Bird dove under the covers at the side of the bed and pinched the small boy who would not get up. Then, "Now it's my turn, daddo!" from the other son. The Submarine Obo Bird lived in Alaska and ate Spooka biscuits. There was just developing a wee Obo Bird, that made less vehement "paks!" and pinched less agitatedly a special June-Bug Obo Bird.
