We are told, and the ordnance map confirms the statement, that this is Hauteville, Hauteville-la-Guichard. It is not Hauteville-sur-mer; it is the namesake that bears the speaking surname of Hauteville-la-Guichard. We seek, in short, for the home of Tancred and his sons.
