Happy he sleeps, fearless with kneeling camels; They pierce him with a lance, Sharp and slender as a thorn, And leave him to groan until His soul leaves his body: The eagle waits to devour his entrails." Hanoteau, Essaie de grammaire de la langue Tamachek, pp. 210, 211. Paris, 1860.
Availing himself of one of those nooks of discourse, which he is at no loss for the means of creating when the purpose of his essaie requires it, he beckons the confidential reader aside, and thus explains his method to him, outright, in terms which admit of but one construction.
It is a discourse he entitled Voluntary Servitude, but those who have not knowne him, have since very properly rebaptized the same, The Against-one. In his first youth he writ, by way of Essaie, in honour of libertie against Tyrants.
