Remarks on the Writings of Fergusson, p. Fergusson a exercé une assez grande influence sur Burns, pour des raisons diverses et qui n'étaient pas toutes littéraires. Burns eut toujours pour lui une sympathie particulière. Dans sa jeunesse, il voyait, dans cette vie malheureuse, une destinée qui n'était pas sans ressemblance avec la sienne.
