Igbernia, which we call Scotland, is surrounded on every side with the ocean; and hence, because the rays of the setting sun strike on it with less interruption than on other countries, the weather is milder there than it is in Britain. Thence, to the west- north of Ibernia, is that utmost land called Thila, which is known to a few men only, on account of its exceeding great distance.
