In the absence of contemporary documentary history, which some time may possibly be brought to light, the legends are the only available data regarding an event of great importance in the modern history of Tusayan. I have obtained the legends from Supela, Shimo, Masiumptiwa, and Saliko, and the most complete appears to be that of the last mentioned.
